Tyler County Hosts Annual Shop With a Cop
November 8, 2017

Christmas is a time of joy and giving. In an effort to give back to the community, the Tyler County Sheriff's Office will again participate in the "Shop With a Cop" program this holiday season.

This unique opportunity allows deputies to share Christmas with children in Tyler County, while fostering positive interactions between law enforcement and the community. Ten Students from A.I. Boreman Elementary School will be chosen for this magical shopping experience.

Each child will be paired with a deputy and provided with $250 to spend on gifts for themselves and their immediate family members.

The success of the mission is heavily dependent on donations provided by community partners. While the goal is to raise $2,500, every $250 raised ensures that another child can benefit from this program.

The support from the community for this project is greatly appreciated.

Checks should be made payable to Tyler County Sheriff's Office with "Shop With a Cop" in the memo. Cash donations and Walmart gift cards will also be accepted and can be dropped off at the Sheriff's Office during business hours. Donations will be accepted until Friday, December 8, 2017.

This year's project has been lead by Tyler County Fair Queen Ariel Fish who stated, "I just felt that this was a good opportunity to help the community." So far there have been two fundraisers, the first being a soup sale and the second being a luncheon consisting of a baked potato, salad, dessert and drink. So far Ariel and the Sheriff's department have raised $895.00 to put towards the program and with the help of the community, the goal is well within reach.
